I'm trying to wrap up the buildup of a D44 I snagged from a 79 Scout. These stupid little bolts are eluding me though. I've been to a few different shops looking for them and nobody has them in stock, which pisses me off. Anybody know of an online seller who carries them? A lot of bloody good this unit does for my Jeep if the damned shafts can't be bolted in. Pardon the excrutiatingly simple problem, but I'm at the end of my friggin' rope.

Have you tried napa? Two other places to try
http://www.anythingscout.com
http://www.lightlineofla.com
Either of the two should have the parts.
Are you sure you're up to the challenge of running Binder parts. Parts for the IH Scout 44's are hard to find. :D
Welcome Newbie :flipoff2:

Hey now, I got the newbie welcome a while ago so :flipoff2: right back at ya. I just tend to keep my trap shut and didn't even register until two months ago. :D
Anyway, the intelligent folks at Napa pointed me to plain old nuts and bolts. The other parts houses I went to at least admitted that they didn't have them and couldn't find them.
I'm cool with running IH parts :D . A buddy of mine has one and always seems to find whatever he is looking for. The guy has quite the little parts network going on over there! I really favor the Scout 44 swap myself as opposed to the ever popular 8.8" that everybody and their fawkin' brother is doing. The shafts being the same length on the Scout 44 is probably my favorite feature! Most of the parts from 30 spline CJ D44s swap in so all I really worry about are the shafts. Nobody has these darned bolts though. Anyway, thanks for the tips.

Find the hardware store.
Buy 4 (or 8) 1/2" NF bolts of appropriate length and 4 (8) aircraft 'stover' lock nuts.
Now go home.
Fire up your bench grinder. Grind down one side of the head of each of the bolts.
Install in rear axle flange - see if they sit flush and the flattened part hits the housing end in the right manner... Repeat until it does.
Now install the rear axle.
I'll make you a set for $99.95 - that's less than Scoutillac wants for old, rusty, work-hardened 25 year old stockers!

I'll do it for $20.00 a side, $5.00 per bolt for hazardous disposal (metal shavings), $50.00 for rush processing, $35.00 for shipping, lets see that totals $165.00, I'll give you $15.00 for PBB member.
