Hey, I'm wanting to replace my TH 400 with the T18 I have. If I remove my flex plate and add a 401 flywheel....is my crank drilled for a bushing? Is a bushing already in there? The engine is a 74' 401 and the tranny, T18 came from a 79' 360. <IMG SRC="smilies/eek.gif" border="0">

All AMC engines used a pilot bushing, even those used with automatics. You will need to swap the auto one for one for a manual for the T18.

Yup - I know there are more than one size amoung auto trans. Don't know if or what will interchange... BUT they are differant.
BE SURE or you will break off a bellhousing or tranny ear. Take it from one who is now sadder but wiser.
Good Luck,
