ok I USED to have a 94 YJ with SOA on 2.5" springs, 3" body lift and a clocked 300. with the 3" body lift I had to clearence some of the floor pan to get the dana 300 in there.

well now:

a honda pulled in my way and after several flips I am starting over.

this time, I don't want to use a body lift but I still want the dana 300.

is it posible to get a clocked dana 300 in a yj with out a body lift?

I know I am going to have to remove some of the floor but I had to beat alot of it with the 3" bodylift. is it even possible to get the dana 300 in there with OUT a body lift?

2nd position means not flat right? I am using a flat dana 300 (almost 5deg) and a stock YJ skid plate.

the only thing on the CJ is that it came with a 300. on the YJ it came with a tcase that was supposed to be on the other side.

I wonder how much this will affect me.

you can see in this picture (http://community.webshots.com/photo/57499483/57499857JoRIra) how flat it is. no its not perfectly parallel with the ground.. but its the closest of the 3 positions. 1st position hangs down a bit, 2bd position is close to flat , 3rd position angles it upward more.

I'm sure Go2Guy will chime in with real angle #'s soon

I'm sure you are in for some floor surgery with a YJ tub. The first position on my kit clocks about 2.25" which is about all you can get on a CJ without a body lift. This will get the bottom of the t-case about even with the belly of some of the bigger granny 4-speeds.

Raising to the middle postion gets about 3.25" which gets the t-case higher tan the bottom of most auto trannies- needs floor work or about a 1' body lift in a CJ. The third positon is almost but not quite flat and will work great with auto's with real shallow pans like a 999. I can't recall how much room there is on a YJ tub considering the original drivers side drop etc.

The important thing is to get the t-case even with or higher than the belly of the tranny- not much to be gained after that. Good luck!

Seth, i am using the same set up. I went with the Go2Guys ring in the second position, no body lift, i do have a 465 tranny and the t-case does not hang down past that monster. I AM using the factory YJ belly pan with NO drop down. I just had to beat the floor a tad( litterally not much at all) on the pass side to accommodate the twin stick.

You are more than welcome to come look at mine, anytime. Or if i figure out this damned new idgital camera i will send some pics.
