i have an 84 CJ7 with a new 258. i am wanting to put a weber carb on it (part #k551, 32/26) i'm wondering if i'm going to run into any emission problems with it. thanks for the help.

Well, it really depends on where you live. I see you live in AZ.. I don't believe that aftermarket carbs are illegal there, but you should check with the local law enforcement to be sure. I know in california, the weber and other after market carbs are illegal, and we have a visual inspection of the engine bay for our smog checks.. that sucks.. Ive wanted a weber for a while, since I can't seem to afford fuel injection.

If the state of AZ will let you get away with it, you're gonna be real happy with that carb. I got one on my 87 Wrangler 258 and they work great!
