Just finished my dual Optima battery set up, and am wondering what solenoid is best for isolating the batteries after ingition shut-off? I have a heavy duty solenoid for a F-450 thinking that would be strong enough, but it gets real hot...probably not the right one. If anyone knows what part #, or vehicle application would work for continueous duty I sure could use some insight. Thanks.

Take a look at Painless wiring or Wrangler power products.. They sell the solinoid your looking for..

I have the Wrangler power products one now and it works awsome..

I got mine from Allied Electronics. It was around $57. It is rated for 200Amps continuous and 600amps intermittant. I can't remember what the intermittant duty cycle was. Allied Electronics has a website and I just ordered it off there.

Thanks, I found a 200 amp continuous from Wrangler Power for $49.85. They also have ones rated at 100 amps and 150 amps. I imagine that the 200 is recomended for any high current demands (ie. one dead or low battery). Is this correct? Any local part stores stock any such item?
