Im doing a little research into shoehorning a 302 and c4 into my 88 Toy 4x pickup. Ive researched this and several other sites and its not very hard to do,all the adapters,and motor mountsare available to hook up to my t-case but I figured Id ask you a couple questions that I cant find any info on:
Which Ford vehicles came with the 302 and c-4 in it? I figure its prolly easier to just buy a running vehicle to get the combo from. It needs to be 2wd and doesnt require any certain oil pan, I have to use a special pickup and oil pan anyhow.

What about the electronics system on an efi engine, would I need to use the ECU from the donor?

Were there any vehicles that had the same combo but carbed? Im moving back down to Louisiana so my truck will once again be a flat lander, no off camber, no hills to climb, just mostly mud bogging. I also think this would be much simpler to rewire.

any info you can give me regarding electronics, wiring, which years to stay away from,websites, anything, please let me know.I want to get any and all info I can before I spend a buck Dave :)

I"m not sure what you meant about "It needs to be 2wd". But if it does need to be a 2wd get a small block C6 from anything you can find. It will be stronger and cheaper. If you have to have a C4 Ford put them in a lot of pickup's. The 4x4 C4 source is narrowed to the Early Bronco and those will cost you big money. SInce it's in a Toy pickup use a 4x4 C6, or a 2wd C6 and a divorced case.

Well, where to start-in terms of finding one the cheapest-look for Granadas from the late 70's... Mustangs from 68-73ish. Some Econoline vans early 70's. I have not mentioned F100s because some of them had the C6. If you want to send me your email I will post on my early bronco lists and ask if anyone has such an animal laying around. The early bronco C4 is getting rare so if you can use a 2wd C4 you are in better shape.
