: Panard rod bushes

I have recently fitted 35's muds to my Rangie
It has a 5" suspension lift and custom 4 link front
But now my Panard Rod bushes are getting chewed out very rapidly.

Has anyone tried lowering or remounting the panard rod to fix this problem?

had mine made longer (about 3/4 of an inch) to put the axle back center of the truck when i put a 5" lift on don't have problems with the bushings being eaten up.

Simon,

What type of bushings are you using? I have found that in a lot of instances poly bushings just fatigue, crack and fall apart rather quickly. Where, in other instances they provide the additional strength where it is needed, and where one would want less flex.

It seems to me, that the panhard rod essentially moves only along one axis vertically, with a minimum of movement in an arc when the radius arms swing during articulation.

The panhard rod bushings are one of the few places on my trucks where I have left the poly bushes in place.

With your 5 inch lift you are probably eggagerating the movement, and/or have maxed out the potential for movement within the bushing prematurely.

Maybe rubber bushes might be better in your application? Or, maybe like you suggested, making a longer panhard rod might be what's needed.

Interesting, to say the least.

i might try a rubber bush and slightly relocate the lower mounting.
