: Spicer Double Cardan D shaft part #

I'm looking to install a twin cardan joint at the front driveshaft, T case.

I'm wondering if anyone has the part # for the spicer weld-in assembly for rover driveshaft tube and having the flange pattern from L-R driveshafts. Those parts are all spicer, so I'm almost sure that you can get this stuff.

thanks

I don't think there is a double cardan flange that fits the rover bolt pattern. All the ones I know of use a 1" adaptor flange made of steel or aluminum to make it work. The driveshaft is then bolted to the flange using 12 point 12mm bolts available from your local ford dealer. For regular u-joints however there is a spicer flange that fits, don't know the part # though.

I agree with fear factory. I spent a while trying to trace this mythical double cardon for LR flanges in the UK after having seen one or two examples of people using them over there. I was told from all sources that there was no such animal. more questions of people using them in the states confirmed that they all use an adapter.

Now if anyone can supply the spicer number for the joint people are using with the adapters then I would be well chuffed:D

As far as I know in the 1310 size there is a choice of two styles of yokes. The normal one as used on series LRs with a fairly restricted range of movement and the high angle option which allows 30° of angular movement before binding.

This option is not available for the smaller UJ used in some (all?) coil sprung aplications.

or
Jess (High Angle)
or
or
Six States
or

Stage I 109 V8s used a DC front driveshaft without an adaptor mounted to an LT95 with the rover bolt pattern.

What I did was swap the flange on the LT230 for the disco II part and use a disco II DS with new greasable U-joints.

Land Rover says the bolts are imperial thread, 3/8-24... The factory parts references state this clearly.

As for flanges, by chance is the Discovery series II flange a standard Spicer spacing?

Peace,
