: Anyone with experience with Black Dimond Lifts or Coil Springs?

I am thinking of trying out the Black Dimond lift springs for the front of my 86 Ranger TTB and was wondering if anyone out there has any experiece with that company. They say they are pre-sagged and heat treated to hold their shape. I am looking for some that don't sag 30 minutes into the rocks. I am looking for more flex as well. Those Ranger TTB springs are hard!

Just springs?
I haven't seen the Black Diamond ones, but nothing I have seen comes close to the flexiness of Skyjacker coils.

15" flex is possible with the 6" ones if you have extended radius arms(13 being about average, just bolting things on).

Agreed there too many stiff springs out there. Seems some would rather blame the suspension design rather than the stiff springs for not flexing, though

I may experiment with eB coils on the TTB someday. Be curious how that'd work

I've been following a series of posts on the EB springs on the Ranger. It seems that they are around 350# versus the Ranger 500#. The problem is that no one is actually posting a picture or results of the springs at work.

One other link I am following concerns Jeep Cherokee springs on the Ranger. It seems like they are too soft at around 250#, but some guys are trying them with mixed results. Perhaps for a trailered, pure off road machine they would work out OK, but they are saying that you loose 4" of lift just by installing them.

That would make for some tremendous droop, but I wonder about coil bind when stuffed.

IF anyone is actually running EB springs on the front of the Ranger please let me know. It would be helpful to have more solid information than f**k it and run them... That means nothing to someone prepared to whipping out the checkbook and spending money nedlessly.

thanks

FWIW,
the Skyjacker 6" (pt#136) coils are right at about 400 lb.-in.

Here are a couple of pictures of mine with 6" Skyjackers. As you can see, even though they are not as stiff as the Superlift coils they still leave a lot to be desired.

That 2nd pic doesn't look bad
The Skyjacker coils certainly still do leave a little to be desired, I agree.
Unfortunately, theyre the best of a not-so-good bunch. Maybe I sounded a little overenthusiastic about them. They do work reasonably well, though

This is why I may experiment with eB coils (I'll need to extend my shock towers, too).

6" Skyjackers/stock shock mounts.
