will the complete windshield off a 75-84 cruiser (on ebay) fit on a 66 cruiser. I have a soft top so that part shouldn't be an issue. More curious if it would bolt directly on the cowel

should bolt up, but you'll most likely have to heat the old bolts and use an impact to get them off. also, if you run with your w/s down, you have to update to the new style hinges and be sure to update to the new style w/s hood rests.

Should all line line up ok. However, the wiring for the wipers may be a little different. Not huge dramas, but i fitted an early windscreen (with the wipers at the top) to a late cruiser and i think i had 1 to many wires - or maybe i was 1 short - i dont remember. But an easy fix :D

Hey Arndog, I pulled a 79 windshield frame and put it on my late 74. If you are interested I have the 74, it's in good shape with motor, no glass though. Shoot me an email at badassyota@yahoo.com, figure it should be worth $100 plus shipping?

Not sure why, but you will have some problems with the hinge bolts.

Here is the deal: You will need the later style hinges that have the stickout so that the motor will clear the cowl (it sticks out at the front botom. This also changes where the WS will land when you drop it.

I rebuilt a set of late model hinges - made the bushings, used stainless pins and had thjem powdercaoted - but guess what:

The bolts don't all line on up on cowl side - you can only get 3 out of 4 in. So what you really have to do is:

Replace your WS, hood. Get late hinges and weld up the offending hole.

Or run the early hinges and don't put your windshield down.

I guess I won't bid on the eBay one...

rick I trust you are taking care of yourself and watching out for the rest of us at the same time. Thanks.

Deal is with my windshield the glass is spiderwebbed and the wipers suck so I thought it would be a good way to get both.

I don't mind messing with the hinges and since it is winter time I can't see the window going down anytime soon.

thanks for the info guys Ill see if the bid gets to high

thanks for the offer on the windscreen Red but one of the biggest motivations is that it has the window.

thanks guys
