I have an early (91) currie built 9" that I want to convert to discs. I have already ordered the ford motorsports kit that converts 8.8 and 9" rears. Supposedly, this kit will work with 2.5" axle offsets. now Currie tells me today that their axles are cut to 2 and 3/8s offset and the Ford Motorsports kit wont work, but they's be happy to sell me a kit for $700. I really don't have any interest in P&Ping 20+ year old calipers, but I don't want to buy something I dont' have to. Is Currie yankin my chain?
Thanks
PS-Anybody know where I can get some chrome mud flaps and nerf bars? ;)
well you can just machine the small lip off of the back of the ford motorsports disks...... it looked to be around 1/8" on a redrill job I just did....... the calipers are floating ( ie: 1/8" difference won't matter...)
or if you want to do it the cheap ( read inexpensive ) way ..... use Samaurai front rotors and Nissan 300 zx rear calipers ( these come with a parking brake hookup) the nissan calipers float in their own brackets and a simple bracket will connect them to the four bolt axle bearing retainer......... it's so simple :D

I have the ford kit (M2300-G) on my D60. What I would do is not use the backing plate and make up a caliper bracket and then all that would be missing is the parking brake. :smokin:

Yeah, I need to have an e-brake tho as this is still a road vehicle. No room to do one one my TC and don't want to do line locks. I will take a look at the kit when it comes tomorrow and see if I can tweak it enough to work
Thanks for the posts.
