Is the rear in a 79 F250 2wd a D60 ? It has a 300 6cyl and a 4spd. It has a 6200 lb gvw. I haven't check yet but could it have 4:11 's in it since it has the 6 and a 4spd ? It is a full floating rear also.

It should be, but strange things happen. Every stock late 70's F250 I've seen has a D60, the F350s got the D70.

I am 99% sure it's a D60 I haven't realy looked at it yet. Is it worth $75 drum to drum ?

Well, they are tough to beat. They are also big and heavy, but look how many people run them too. Obviously they are good axles and I think that is a good price for it. I think many of the rears are overpriced just because it is a D60, but there are SO MANY of them it isn't funny. Think about it, every 3/4 Ford in the 70's had one, not to mention the Dodges. To put a bit of referance in here on the price for you, I gave $200 for a Ford 7.5 for a BroncoII at my friend's yard, anyone else would have paid more, but it was exactly, gears and all, what I needed.
