I'm about to do a huge trade with a guy this weekend for a 383 Stroker moter:D and I am giving him a bunch of stuff plus the t-case. Originally thought it was the 205 (assumed) then checked the number. My question, is the 208 worth anything, if so how much (don't want to get screwed)?

I think it is worth about $150... I would pay about $100 for one if I wanted one... $200 if I needed one. they just can crack easy. On the up side they have 2.6ish:1 low... which is better than the 205, which is just as easy to get

205 and 208 are worth about the same, and id bet more people are looking for 205s than 208s, so get rid of it

i know tom at sunray recomends np208's. he and most of the guys he runs with run np208's. yes they are aluminum and have a chain but according to him they are stronger than jeep dana20's and dana300's. the slip yoke versions are not reaaly a good thing but the dodge, jeep, and ford versions use a fixed yoke tail shaft. according to him he has seen lots of dana 300's break but has never had a problem with the 208's.
