I already did a search and found nothing that helped. We were thinking about a 1/4 eliptical susp. on our cj5. The only pronblem that i see is that this is going to be a daily driver more or less. Anybody else use theirs as a daily driver. Thanks a lot for the input.

i don't know why people have problems with this. the 1/4 elliptic can be a fine on road susp. set up. just get the spring rate that you want. for the road make it on the stiffer side. with a steep progresive rate.
the 1/4 elliptic part of it has nothing to do with it. i have a 1/4 e set up and it does fine on the road. i could use a sway bar in the rear but i'm ok with the way it is. its great off road and ok on road. if i did any more on road driving i would increase the spring rate. and maby a sway bar.
you will also find out that a stiffer starting rate does not hurt flex as much as you think. in other words there are some guys running too soft of a rate looking for max flex if you ask me. there is no need to go that soft. it makes the on road to soft.
but what do i know.

is any one running it in the front???

I don't drive mine everyday, but the 1/4 elliptic handles just fine on the road. My rear springs are pretty stiff and mounted outboard of the frame and it doesn't lean that bad going into corners. And it still flexes plenty.

I am still messin with it. Put in another leaf a few days ago, rides like a dream, even without shocks.
why didn't you push the rear end back to give yourself more room. That way you could have longer than an 18" drive shaft. Just askin?
I didn't feel like moving the gas tank. I am sure it will happen eventually.
I think this is what is going to happen to my cj-5. But I think I'm going to cut the body right at the doors and go tubing. I need to finish my Scrambler first.:D

If you want to drive a lot of highway miles don't use cheasy rod ends use high quality big ones or Johnny joints, to minimize the clunks and rattles and wierd vibrations that come from worn out rodends. stiffer spring rates and swaybars are nice but you get used to excessive body roll it is harder to get used to it sounding like a POS.
