: Today is my last day of work

As a few of you know, in July of 01 I was injured while racing in the Fire-Police Motocross nationals. Lucky for me it was an event that was covered by the department, so it was like getting injured on duty. It has been decided that I can't perform my full duties with a permanetly broken left clavicle, so I'm being retired and today is it  :D :D

It actually takes about 6 months to process the paperwork, so now I just go home and hang out. :D

Man, you dont know much do you? Clearly he will be at his retirement party, putting on the gold watch, when a call comes in that a villian he put behind bars years ago has broke free and is back to killing innocents. The Boss, who everyone lovingly calls cheif, will tell MD that its not his fight, "go home, and take care of your family." But MD will have nothing of it. "No cheif, I know this guy, I put him behind bars once."
The cheif, knowing that MD is right, will give a forced reply of approval, followed by the obligatory comical/friendly taunt
"Ok goddammit, but dont get killed, that wath wasn't cheap you know"

Least, thats what I think

This may come out wrong but I mean no disrespect, really!! :) (ok,,I'd respect you more if you broke it while tackling Bubba the father-raper rather than not being able to stay on 2 wheels :flipoff2:)

Just curious about 2 things...1st is why won't they just chain you to a desk? That would suck for sure but it seems like they would be getting their taxpayers $$$ out of you then :)

and 2....how the hell do you woodwork with a broken collarbone? :)

Like I said..no disrespect (though I'm sure someone will flame ) just honest curiousity

#1 We have no permanent light duty (desk) jobs. Every Deputy on our department has to be able to function at 100% no matter what job they're doing at the time.

#2 The ends of the bones heve healed, just not together like they were supposed to, so the bone kind of floats around. If I plan my movements ahead of time I can do most things with a minimal amount of pain, but if I have to perform fast, sudden movemenst using alot of force I'm done (like getting into a fight). ;)

And I hate you, you lucky bastard! :flipoff2:

Have an enjoyable time!

;) your the best Zooki!!

The crib & changing table are handled... the chest of drawers are needed and would be nice.. but, first on *my* list would be a new bed (big ass Calif King) and dining table.
that would be after the painting he needs to do. :D

Where I work they retire, hire back on in 6 months for less money/benefits and lighter schedule.
They work for another 5 or 10, retire and die 6 months later.

I am planning to retire some day and have been saving 15% of my gross income since I was 28. I'll probably die at age 59 1/4, setting up my wife and her next husband.
