I have a line on a set out of a '78 F250. I've tried to search the board for info but nothing came up. The search apparently also has a 4 character minimum, doh!
Anyway, it's going into a '91 YJ SOA and I'm keeping it full width to simplify things and going with hummer wheels to help with the width. What about the brackets? Do they need to be moved? What do I need for the high-steer? How much can you shave these pigs? Down the line I see a 302/NP435/NP203/D20 w/twin stick drivetrain to motivate it so what lockers shell I go with?
Keep in mind that not all 78/79 F250s had a RC 60 up front. Could be a 44.
And if it is a 60, I don't believe those hummer wheels will fit over the brakes.

It is a rc hp 60. :) and the hummers will fit with some massaging of the calipers...with a grinder. :) The spring pads and high steer are the only questions for me and maybe a rear disc swap?
high steer on this axle is easy it is a kingpin axle. just 4 bolts on each side to bolt the arms onm, but be carefull im not sure which arms will work with the hummer backspaced wheels

The front spring pad is in the right spot and I think the rear is also. The inner axles on the 78/79 Ford 60s are junk so look into getting some new ones and have those as replacements.

I agree with MO could be a 44. I scored a set of 60's from a 78' F250 extra cab . I believe the frnt spring pads are about 1/4 in. off but the springs will bolt up. The rear are to wide ,you will have to remove them but that's ok becouse you will have to set your pinion angle , just set it then weld the pads on so you don't have to use pinion shims.

It's patriot blue and not a daily driver. :) I put the 36s on recently. They're on loan from a friend who's name should remain "brokenrig". :)
