looking to swap out my stock scout arm for one of shorter length.

i know most everyone uses the waggy arm, but i have heard there is one shorter that will fit the box. ford maybe?

if so, anyone know what model/year i can get a pitman that will work, and is shorter than the waggy let me know.

i need to get the dimensions so that i can make my histeer arms next weekend.

gracias,
pat

I used a Jeep pitman with a 4" drop for my Hy-Steer. I got it from www.partsmikeparts.com. Worked out great!

Wouldn't the 4" drop hit your springs?? Or is it short enough tono be a factor.

Just wondering....

OOPS! My bad, it's only a 2" drop! Here's a couple of pics of the PartsMike Pitman arm.

hmmmm, looks good

nicer drop than the waggys or the dodge. Those two can get REALLY close to the frame...

do you recall the center to center distance of it?? Big TRE or small??

I'm not sure how I could accomodate any more of a drop arm...

Or do I just get more flex than the rest of you? :D

And I was thinking I'd taken too much flex out by putting in the bump stops so low..

I think you just "get it" a little more than the rest of us!

Maybe it has something to do with jumping it at 40mph???? :D

On the tech side I measured my wagoneer pitman arm this morning and it had approx 1" of drop.
