Thanks to the chicken littles in California and their proposition 65. Now computer companies have to put warning labels on computer cables such as mouse cords, keyboard cords, hard drive data cables etc since they are coated with PVC and apparently Ca. has decided it is one more thing that can kill their citizens

Are they going to include a strangling warning too?

So, do all the vinyl sided houses have to put up a bunch of stickers to warn their neighbors?

Got a link?

Right now only company internal documents. The reason it's making things difficult for me is evidently this doesn't legally need to be done till fall but my company is acting above and beyond and putting their plan in place months earlier. Well thats all well and good for our own products...unfortunately I deal with other vendors parts so how do I convince Compaq/HP to follow the guidelines 6 months early???

Nah, I was just busting your chops. :D The capital in Sacramento
needs a giant enema. After that we should get rid of appx. 75%
of the present laws and I think we'd be much better off.

So, exactly how could it affect you? Would you need to eat a cord or something?

Whenver I think VT is getting overrun by whining liberals I hear something even worse from Kali.......

The way it affects me is that IBM (who I work for) has decided to be good citizens and start complying with the law 6 months early by putting stickers on all parts we distribute. No probblm, as long as its an IBM part which is 98% of our business. Unfortunately I deal with part of the 2% thats non-IBM...so I have to figure out how to get stickers on HP/Compaq parts when they legally have another 6 months to start doing it per California.

Got it?

edit: or did you mean how does the pvc possibly affect you? In which case I have no clue :) Probably they fed 1000 rats a diet of ground up pvc for a year and 1 died
