a 1959 travellal that had been special ordered from IHC to be SUPER DUPER MEGA heavy duty. the thing had 2" rockwell axles and everything. supposedly it was custom ordered as a service vehicle for a railroad company, when my friend bought it it even had the railroad wheels on it and everything. curb weight- 11,000 pounds!

does anyone have more info on these travelalls that were custom ordered in super heavy duty form? i cant help but think it would make an awesome, unique tow rig.

Sounds like a variant of a A-180 type truck. IH was very much into building a custom rig for you needs back then.

bob, from what i gather it was a travelall though, not just a crew cab. also it was 4x4. i will have to see if he has any pictures of it that i could scan and post.
