I have no pics, but I've always been a huge fan of Chevy orange block and heads, with chrome (yes, I said chrome, fawkers!) valve covers. When my truck gets its V8, that's how its gonna look.

Paint it with catalized enamel like you would paint the body with. The sky is the limit on colors. I painted a motor metalic purple with a clear coat.....it went into a black&white (two tone) Camaro....it was bad ass.

I went for basic black and the manifolds are a bit crusty. Not the best pic for the overall black look. The Holley is only there for run-in after there's tubes around it.

If you want a clean engine compartment pop the hoods of a few 50 year old field Jeeps. I hosed it off but it may give you a few ideas. I especially like the wiring, it takes the focus away from the lack of filters.

It's hard to tell in this picture but the 4.0L on the left is light grey while the 3.8L on the right has a black block and valve covers with bare aluminum heads and the supercharger and ducting is a medium grey.

Hey tim is that the fat block in the blue xcab right? The one that sits near Gravediggers shop en route to the OBX? Whats up with the steel rod going from the firewall to the core support? Was the engine in a cj first?

No this was in another toy I did......It had a "quick remove" front clip....the rod helped support the radiator...it was VERY FAST:D

I can imagine that mofo would shit and git with a N2O setup like that.... and the fact that nobody just puts dart valvecovers on a stock engine prolly has something to do with it too.....

Hey Texas Blake,

is it just me or does your aluminum 401 say 360 on the side?

Did you bore and stroke it to a 401?
