Steering that is.:smokin: Where did you guys get your 3/4' bored yokes and U-joints for your saginaw steering shafts. I have just about all my parts gathered for my scout steering conversion and would like to avoid forking out $80 to Flaming River or Borgeson. I found one at a local farm store but the thing was HUGE. If I threw that on there in would feel like I was back to Armstrong steering. I've heard a from a few that were able to pick theirs up for about $30, but I don't know where.

you might want to double check your price at borgenson. They weren't that much. I got a polished SS one for my nova for less then 80 bucks. These joints are quality to. The way I did mine was to get a jeep steering shaft. massaged it a little and it dropped right in.

Try Six States Distributors (http://www.sixstates.com) . They are the traditional suppliers of Dana/Spicer parts on the west coast and also of the parts used in many PS conversions. If you use entirely Spicer u-joint parts you will need the following:

(2) #5-103X U-joints ($31 ea.)
(2) #10-4-13 end yokes ($30 ea.)
(1) # 10-3-13X slip yoke ($28)
(1) #10-4-501SX Steering Yoke ($21)
steering shaft and key stock

Prices listed above are of 1996 vintage, so are not likely accurate.

The u-joints listed above are basically for PTO applications. Personally when it comes to steering, I want to spend just a bit more money for the quality of a Borgeson system. But the spicer u-joints listed above have beenused on many Cruiser applications without problems. You should be the judge of what is best for you.

what size input shaft does the box have?

Mine had a 3/4" x 30spline (measured a little under 3/4)

and I used a Afco 30308
3/4 smooth....3/4 x 30

it was around $55
