I plan to run longer springs up front for flex (88-up rears?) there is no limit to the amount of fender cutting I will tolerate. I think it may help if I move the front axle forwards a touch? opinions anyone?

I saw an artical in one of the 4x4 mags that had a (73-91???) blazer that had a 4in lift and 38's with a lot of cutting.

You mean minimum drivetrain requirements to run 44's. You can put 44's under a subaru with enough cutting. Its all about how strong your drivetrain is.

who needs to cut? make a flatbead slap it on, have some more:beer: then take the fenders off, more  then slap the 44's on. hybreds do it all the time. but make sure your running gear is really stout or you will be one of those idiots w/ a 10B front on 44's that goes:nuke: :flipoff2:

At the very least, you'll have to modify the leading edge of the cab and/or the radiator support. Not enough room between them to turn a big tire at full stuff w/small lift.

yeah I'm gonna be one of those nerfs with a dana44 and 44 inch tires for as long as it takes me to find a front 60 without selling my kidneys first.
or untill I get tired of those metalic snap noises enough to spend a lot.

I ran 44's on my K5 with a 9 and 3 lift and some fender cutting
driveline angles will need to be worked on and you will definately need beefing.

Dana 44 w/44's- you better be driving in a straight line with no obstacles. You won't be looking as hardcore wheeling with that

lots of hardcore wheeling, all obstacles will require taking it out of 4wd and flooring it.

Consider removing all non-essential parts from the 44 to save weight, ie r&p, carrier, shafts, driveshaft...It will be easier on the wheel bearings and ball joints.

yup...check your blinker fluid and muffler bearings too. make sure they have enough clearence between them and the crome automatic shifter knob:D

hehehe
maybe I can remove the diff entirely? makes more ground clearance under the front axle.
I figure on not going to extreme till I can dig up a front 60.

wait till you have the D60 before you start going after altitude. Pavment princess rigs get a special salute:flipoff2:
