I've heard that Dana 300's have week output shafts. Whats the deal??? I just swaped in a 300, and am now a little concerned.

Who has the upgrade parts?? Cost?? Are they worth it?? Should I even be concerned??

My trucks a Scout II BTW.

they are not overly weak they survive alot of abuse but with big tires and big hp they may break. advance adapters makes and heavy duty output for the rear that upgrades it to 32 splines. the output is a modified atlas output. i have this upgrade in my d300. the front out put is the same spline count as the atlas also, unless you get the upgraded atlas. the t case is gear driven and has a cast casing. its a strong t case and even better with the upgraded output.

Yeah, you should be cool with the std output...lots of people run it without the upgraded output.

I wouldn't worry about it I have never seen a 300 break. U would really have to be beating on it. Between my friends and I we have never been able to break one and my friend is really harsh on his jeep.

If you are Hookin It, jump and land on the gas then that is when you will most likely bend it but rock crawling it will be fine. If you do break it you will probably deserve it and be thinking I guess that wasn't such a good idea at the time:flipoff2::D

Thanks guys, thats what I kind of thought. I've heard of a couple guys breaking them, was more curious on how common it was.

I can break axles and drive-lines all day and still get home, breaking a t-case concern me, but sounds like I'll be ok.

When (if??) I break it, then I'll concider upgrading :D

jeepskickass broke his output twice, the same weekend(new years) the same hill (wheelie hill, truckhaven) one year apart:D but it's not exactly a short wheelbase friendly climb and he likes the stupid pedal. but i wouldn't worry about yours, they are strong.
