Some of you know I just bought my wife a 94 Grand 4.0 Limited. Went over to crescent city in it and out on I-5 It was winding up and wouldn't shift into over drive at like 70/65. Its running 31s, stock gears, Today coming home same thing untill hwy 44 the OD decides to turn on going up a slight grade.

I imagine something just needs to be calibrated, did a search but came up pretty empty on the exact subject.

To the Guru's with all the answers thank you in advance.

adjust the kickdown cable on the throttle body to have more tension. There is a little black button thingy that rachets it tighter.

on second thought, you need to loosen it if it wont go into OD. I have the 4.0 in an XJ with auto, so the ZJ should be pretty similiar.
