i want to put nerfs on my flattie but the pipes won't let me. they come outta the 289 manifolds, cross under the frame, and come out mufflers in front of the rear wheels. has anyone ever tried to keep the pipes on the inside of the frame? it doesn't look like theres much room but thats the only way it seems to me that theyd work with nerfs. the gas tank has been relocated to the inside of the body tub (in the back) so theres nothing towards the back of the underside of the tub. i figured i could mount mufflers there. just thought id see if anyone else had tried to run pipes past the t case and all that stuff

First off, what made you decide on nerfs? you're gonna be losing at least three inches of clearance, why not just slap some angle Iron on to prevent damage? Or if you are looking for step options, H8monday has an excellent solution. HTH

whatI am going to do is run a crossover to the drivers side then run a single 3in out the back! there isnt room to run duals out inside the frame on the early jeeps! goodluck! <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

i got the advanced headers and they are fender well exit. i did cj5 body bushings this got my body up another 3/4 of an inch or you could stack them and get 1 1/2 inch body lift any way i used walker race magnum mufflers and tucked them up high . then a friend ceramic coated it all for free looks killer and is out of the way. the only thing you have to do to get the headders to fit is on the fender well there is a 90 degree bend at the bottom that has to be cut off thats it
