I saw in an add that I cannot find some cheap air tanks. I thought it was in one of the mags, but I looked through them and I can't find it.
THey had the 2.5 gallon tank for $49 which you normally see for $69. They had the 1 gallon for $39. That's the one I need. Thanks for any help.
Summit Racing has some really cheap air tanks. Something like $40 for a 2.5 gallon tank. I've seen the one you're thinking about and can't find the ad or website anymore.

Skip all the "racing" and 4x4 shops. Cheapest place to buy air tanks is a tractor trailer place. Ask them to see their "air brake tanks".
Up here in Canada (with my club discount) I just bought a brand new 6.5 Gallon for less than US$20 (and they had a dozen like it in stock, and lot's more other sizes)
They have 1 gallon and up here.

Check around at some truck/tractor repair shops.
I got a 1.5 gallon and a 3.5 gallon from a steel comapny around here that was upgrading several of their trucks. Heck, I've even got a 5 gallon shop tank on wheels that I may try to fit under my truck. Not that I'll be needing that kind of volume with the compressor I'm looking at.
Actually a buddy grabbed them for me and they are in great shape. Blasted them clean and had 'em painted.

Jim,
Kilby's 2.5 gallon tank fits nicely on the driver side across from the muffler.
I haven't hit mine yet.

ditto on the big rig junkyard. Take a look around and you'll find all sizes of tanks for cheap (air brake tanks).
