Ohhh I see the XJ met up with the same rock that ripped off my rear 1/4 2 weeks before you guys were there!
http://www.plantationjeepclub.rockcrawler.com/images/various_10.jpg
Now the short wheel base trucks with the tires stick out far enough can rung a tire up that rock face on the right. the turn off it when you hit a pucker factor of about 8 and it wil drop you right on a line so you mis the rock on the left. Dont work on anything with over 95 inch wheel base like the XJ found out.

The guardrail itself is down. The tree stumps that it was mounted to rotted away.

Well, I always thought it was a good idea for the rail to be there. At least if the roll is slow, it may stop you from dropping down that extra 500 feet off the mountain side.

Rumor that was floating around at Dixie run is a Girl in a Wrangler lost it backing up to get a second shot at the second hump. Came off it backwards and didn't get on he binders and went off the hill backwards taking the guardrail and rotted stump with her.
The rail is laying there and really needs to be pushed over the edge. It's just waiting to rip out sidewalls. Nothing left to attach it to.
few more years of errosion and it will probably get closed. Not much tera firma left where the guardrail was. Now trees there to keep it tied together.

It's too bad no-one will put some cut up telephone poles to attach the rail to. I don't live up there, so I don't know any of the forest rangers or the clubs that take care of the trails there.

Hey, we saw you guys there... We were in a group with 4 Toyota Trucks, one with a steel flatbed... I was driving a grey cherokee with 33's and yellow beadlocks, im sure you saw us.... Had a little trouble getting that XJ around 11 eh? Yeah, i drove right around it with no trouble, don't think its a wheelbase thing... Well, enjoy sunny warm florida, its still not getting cold up this way... We may go hit tellico a little bit in december... Looks like you guys had fun though....
