Anyone know a good place for power steering box reference?
I have a TJ with 38's and I want a bigger steering box for more turning power, and bigger (longer lasting) seals.
Here is what I want:
Must have same input shaft as TJ (same as YJ) so my steering shaft will bolt up. Must have same output shaft as TJ (YJ, and Wagoneer are the same too (I have a Wagoneer pitman on mine). Or I need a similiar pitman arm.
Fittings are not that important (I'll mkae my own lines if neccesary), but metric o-ring would be nice.
Now here is the challenge:
I want it to have a bigger cylinder than the TJ one. So I can have more power to turn the 38's. Also it would be nice if it had a better range of rotational travel (or are they all the same?) to increase my turning radius(not tottally neccesary though - I could just machine the knuckles to put the drag link closer to the king pins)
Any steering gurus out there:question:
I _think_ the TJ box is a saginaw 600 series? If so, then maybe there is a saginaw 800 series that has the same input and output shaft? That would have more power and better seals no?
Thanks,
Phil Jensen
