Anyone know of a good free utility on the web that will scan range of IP addresses (chosen by the user, say from 111.111.111.1 to 111.111.111.254) and display the output of the values that are live in a text format?

scan it for what?

I just want to be able to ping a range of IP addresses (entire subnets) and verify if any of the addresses come back as live. Help to keep track of some of the squatters.
