I have heard that the best years are 94-95. After that, I heard that the computer gets a little complicated. Is this correct?

What all came with the LT-1 those years?

Cop Caprices
Vettes
Buick Roadmasters
Caddillac's (What type??)

Anything else to look for?

Camaros and Firebirds had them as well.

93 275hp removable chip
94-95 OBD-I Non removable chip 275hp
96-97 OBD-II Non removable chip 285 hp

These are the hp #'s for the F-body the caprice/ buick models had 265hp with more torque.

My vote is for 98+ LS1 or LS6 The LS6 in the 02 Z06 Vette is 405 hp and is still getting 25+ mpg

Gotta love the 70 LT1 though

96 and up is OBDII. You can revert back to OBDI though. A few guys I was on the Impala SS list with did this. Then you can use LT1-edit and change the tables if you want. And now there are so many people out there that are sharing you can find the already hacked code for you app.

Actually a 350 Ramjet might be a easier install. About $4500 Way less wires and junk. But then there is the ramjet 502 if you really want to GET IT. :)

I happen to have a 96 Impala SS in my driveway right now. You can have it for $4000. I will deliver it partway for that price. If you have the time you could part the rest of it out and get at LEAST $2500 of that back. It was my old car I sold and the kid totaled it.
I think the mileage is in the 60's. It's going to the salvage yard sometime next week. :(

I was going to rebuild it but just don't have the time.

What is a pain in the but is the cars that had the VAS chips in the keys. The pre 94's you can just get a new chipped burned to over ride it I understand but after that you have to send the computer off. My guess would be a Police cruiser with a LT1 would be the one to get. Probably doesn't have the VAS chips in the keys. Most cop cars are single keyed and a door lock will not have the girth to accept a chip key.
I know over my way there are several places that sell old cop cars with LT1's.
I have a kid with about a 94 ex cruiser pass me every day. he slammed it and put some colorado customs on it and it actully looks good. You should see people scatter when he comes blowing up the fast lane! Still has the spot lites on the A-pillers. hahaha.

That post sounds like a salespitch because I cut and pasted that off of their website. No idea on price, but I know their Ford SEFI kits are half the price of the SVO ones.
