Some of you may have remembered reading my post about my BS offroading w/o permit ticket. I've searched the internet high and low for information on this law/vehicle code.
The officer listed it as....
10.56.010 OffRoad w/o permit.
So far I've been completely unable to find anything that relates to my "offense" and that code/number? The ticket was in Sacramento County.
Anyhelp would be appreciated....back to my search

No reference to 10.56.010 but I did find this
Sacramento County Municipal Code
TITLE 10 VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC
Chapter 10.58 OFF-ROAD VEHICLES
10.58.010 Permit Required.
No person shall operate or cause to be operated a motor vehicle except upon the streets, highways and thoroughfares specifically established and provided for the operation of such vehicles except when authorized by a permit issued pursuant to this chapter. (SCC 253 § 1 (part), 1975.)

i'd say look up that specific code the cop wrote down (10.56.010) and then take the other information on the 10.58 one.
If you can't come up with 10.56.010 as anything, especially the offense you are charged with, then I would think you should be clear of that ticket. I know if someone puts the wrong make/model of car on a ticket then it is null and void due to the fact that the vehicle written down isn't the actual vehicle... something like that anyways...

Thanks for the help guys.
Although my truck is fairly loud (LCE Cat Back with header) My truck wasnt even running when I got the ticket. I had been sitting for over an hour talking to locals on my CB. I like the location because my residence is in a small depression, so the added height of the hill helps for distance.
It was a lame ticket but could have been worse. Sitting there less than two blocks from my house in a field I'd drank about 3 beers. Enough for them to really mess with me if they wanted to, Drunk in public, drinking while driving ect....
One sherrif was experienced and had been around long enough. I could tell he didnt want to write me a ticket, perhaps just a warning. The YOUNG new Sherrif had to exercise his chance to write someone a ticket. I guess he could have got me for no mud flaps too but didnt....
Anyhow I decided not to fight it when I found out the fine was only $56 and wouldnt count against my driving record (no points) . The time wasted in court would have cost me more than that. In Sacramento if you just show up in court they can add %170 of the fine for "Penalty Assesment". If you try to fight the ticket make sure your going to win. Because then they normal max out the fine and add the %170.
Thanks all....
