: Newbie Master Cylinder Question

I did a search today on master cylinder upgrades. I installed the MS from a 78 Mercury Marquis. I needed to install a couple of washers so the clip that holds the lid on the master cylinder could clear the booster.

What bothers me is I read on another post that there is supposed to be a seal between the master cylinder and booster? If so, I screwed that seal up when I installed the washers.

Can someone confirm that the master cylinder needs to be tight to the booster for the brakes to work correctly?

Ya, go take it for a test drive and see if you can figure it out for your self:flipoff2:

You guys are awesome. I never would have thought about going for a test drive. I am so glad I asked.

I did drive it and it stops better than before but I cant lock them up (only running 31's right now). I was hoping the seal would make the difference.
