I got one too, they are fun little beasts. Put it in 4 Lo and dont worry...simplicity was key when these were made.

Things to do to it:
Convert to 12 volt electrics
Add alternator, remove generator
Get a roll Cage
Get a top

Put some bigger brakes on it too.

Yes, I forgot that. Replace the brakes, or atleast replace all the seals in them, as they will go out easily.

it had no motor so i bought a rolled toyota 4x4 for $300.00 swapin in motor trans x case and axles should be pretty cool !oh and it will be painted black with a pink roll bar ,frame and rims !!not my idea!!

If it's a mortal sin, then there's a lot of guys out there running on borrowed time.....show me one Jeep ever made that was 100% Jeep.....hell, 75% Jeep from the factory would be pretty conservative. I'd rather see a Willy's Jeep with a Nissan Xterra drivetrain out wheeling than a complete original sitting on jackstands.

A few years back at Folsom Lake, I ran into some guy with a 1.3l out of a samurai...

It was funny as hell.
