OK, I just go through talkiing w/ one of the owners of OX. As for this u-joint, it is a proto right now for the D44. It will be coming outr soon and sold exclusively through Superior. It is made of 300M (I think that is the designation) and ones for the D60 are in the works.
As for the OX locker for the D60, it should be out soon, the cost will be a little over a grand.
Also, Tera is coming out w/ a new 60 housiing that has a round cover. They are sending a pumpkin to OX so they can design an OX locker for it.

I'd pay it for a fully selectable, tough as nails, solid steel locker.

Did OX give any indication what the price range was going to be on these new u joints? I had heard that Superior was going to be coming out with a new high strength joint, I guess this is what they meant. I think these joints are just the ticket, but 300$ for the CTM one is WAY WAY WAY out of the right price range.
Just what should one be willing to pay for a super strength joint? Assuming a base price of ~35$ for a regular joint now? I'd way in the 100$ (us) range would seem reasonable. Anyone else have an opinion on this subject?

I think there really trick if you have the cash. Sounds better than ARB's, if you want the selectable type

Well first the base price for a 5-297 style joint is more like $13
2nd, umm, no more than $50~75 Even them, how many sets of joints and axle shafts do ya buy before you've payed for a D60 install. And what is the down time, on the trail and in the garage worth to ya? hmm ok, off the subject, and yes I know this has been beat to death.........

ok i'm running a 60 up front and I've been looking into this stuff
a stock 60 front ujoint is roughly $35 to 70 depending on which style you get and where you gettum
so for a set of bulletproof u-joints with a 2 year guarantee (replacement of joint only if it breaks in that time) I'd be willing to pay at least twice that. I figure a set of 2 for $300 to $350 would be cool. if you knew it would be replaced if it broke within 2 years of purchase.
as for a grand or an automatic locker
that seems about right for one that you would use up front and that you don't have to worry about airlines or air pumps. just push the cabl and go. an arb lists for like 700 plus the pump so maybe between 800 and 1000 would be good
any more is too much
unless there is just blatant proven strength increases with the ox
as for the rear locker
weld it

I ain't been on the net but, the D44 joint is hoing to list for around $120 and the D60 for around $150.
As for the locker being so expensive, they are machined out of billet steel and the cable is aircraft quality. The diff is a 4 pin. The cover is thick and has a drain plug, fill plug, is CNC machined out of steel (not stamped) and the new ones (for the 60 at least) will have a hole so you can set the adjustment of the fork correctly. The fork has virtually no free play in it.
