: ford t-18/205 cj5

hey guys a friend of mine has a cj5 with 3speed and a dana 20
we have a ford t-18 and 205 mated together
what do we need to do to mate this to his amc 360
we have a front axle with drivers side pumpkin
what do we need to change, and where can i get them
i did the search thing and i didn't come up with enough specifics to get us going

To mate it to the engine, you'll need to remove the existing tranny, get a pilot bearing from Novak, and bolt up the new one. The 3 speed bellhousing should be just fine.

The NP205 attached to that tranny will have a driver side drop- so you should be good there.

The biggest problem you're going to run into is that (assuming you've got a factory Ford adapter), you're going to have about no rear driveshaft. The stock adapter is about 8 inches long. And in a 5, that might not work.

I've seen the same combo in a YJ, and it worked, but I don't think it would work in a 5.

Oh, and since you're in PA, you might give Rockbound on this board a shout. He's the one with the YJ and the same tranny/xfer combo. He's in Pitt

smitrock, I have a shorty 5 with a c-4 and 18 in it. It should be about the same size as your setup. My driveshaft is only about 10" never had a problem.
