Side of Trans says T 18 1B. Is this the Wide ratio 6.32 trans or not.

Well if it was out of a Ford its the T-18 A which is what your looking for with the low granny gear or it cam on some CJ's like 77-79 on a HD package. Check offroad.com they might have identification codes for the t-18...

Easiest thing, since it's not in a vehicle, is to put it in first and turn the input shaft.

If it takes a little more than 6 turns to make the output turn once, you've got yourself a 6.3:1 first gear.

If it takes about 4 turns on the input to make the output turn once, keep looking.

Next thing, is to look at the bolt pattern where it hooks up to the bellhousing. IH stuff tends (not always) to have studs on the tranny with nuts going inside the bellhousing. On Ford stuff, the bolt pattern looks almost like you're looking at an I beam from the end "I"
