I got that interview, and they called today and want me to start on Monday.

Problem is this: They offered me a salary that represents a 38% cut in pay. :(

Unlike a lot of tech people, I did not make much money during the boom either. I'm talking a net pay cut over unemployment after you factor in day-care.

Look at it this way. Each of my kids costs us $425/mo out the nose, up front. Not extra housing, electricity, food, medical. Day care and child support.

#1, one of us is getting fixed as soon as we become elegible for the insuance coverage.

#2, When my kids are grown and gone, we can afford 3 extra car payments per month. :laughing:

Hey, I feel your pain. Maybe take it and keep looking. That way at least you have insurance. I got your PM about going wheeling, it will be a couple weeks, I have some stuff I am trying to get finished on my heep.

Right on. Well, the wife has good insurance, but I gotta work. I love being with my kids, but I'm slowly going insane. I also hate unemployment checks.

If you need a hand, let me know. Also, you should come over and be our first dinner guest, force us to pick up around here. :laughing:

Will do. I would enjoy coming over to eat, visit. Just don't be surprised when I pass on the steak or hamburgers and I dive into the pasta, veggies or taters. I've been a vegetarian for 37 years and I ain't fixin to change anytime soon :-)
