great deal you got. If the bed was shortened they did an awesome job. usually there is some kind of visible indicator that it was.

I may have lost it! I was supposed to go give the guy the $$ tonight - and I told him that I was buying it for sure....

He called me just now and told me that the calls are coming in all of a sudden. He got an offer of $1k - sight unseen. He wants to wait 2 days to see what kind of other calls he gets.

Well, I told him $600 max. I really don't need another project as much as I love those things! It just wasn't in good enough shape to pay too much for. Besides, I still have the 4runner in a million pieces.

Thats my honest opinion too. There is heaps of 45s, and if he wants to stuff you around let it slide, set a max $ in your head and fight him tooth and nail, be evil, hell go and take the tray one night :D :flipoff2: then you are halfway there.

I would tell him you had to borow the money
from a realetive and had to promise to pay
them 100$ in interest, so if he doesnt want to
honor the deal he owes you 100$

That fuckin sucks! Tell him to go screw a tree(or sheep or whatever).....fuckin asswipe!

I got screwed last year on a parts 55, that was a DEAL, and we had a firm deal(I even asked of I could send the money as it would be 4 days till I could get it home).......I was screwed over by someone who heard(thats my fault) I was getting it and told someone else a bit closer to the seller......both the seller and the buyer at bastards and YOU know who you are! In the long run Karma will take care of them and what they did.....I know my Karma is good and I sleep well at night.

So don't worry about it....a better deal will come along, I know it did fo me :)

Hell, he offered it for sale, agreed on a price and a payment schedule. That's a contract. Like Crusher says, you'll suffer a loss if he doesn't sell to you. Don't allow him the option of backing out. Sucks when you can't do business with a handshake.

Well, I chatted with him again last night. I guess I didn't realize at first just how much I want one of these things. I thought about someone else getting it for $1k, and it pissed me off!

I called and told him that since he kinda screwed me that after his little "bidding" episode is over, he needs to call me to let me know what the final price is. Then it will be MY option as to weather I buy it or let it pass.

He agreed!

So, if the guy that wants to buy it is out there.....

Dude, there is always another 45 out there. Don't let this guy Do something like that to you. He will just make the price higher and then "make you a deal" since you want it so much.
Step back and wait. Tell the guy to go screw himself for not being a reasonable man..

Well, I wish I could say that I actually felt that way. I actually felt a little bad as $500 is a STEAL!

I'll let him have his fun. I am not a dummy when it comes to this kind of negotiation. I know when to walk, and when to hang on for a little longer.

I also know who my competition is. It isn't that large of a town, and I know all of the Cruiserheads here.

Hello to you down there in Millersville :flipoff2:

I paid $1200.

I called one of my local Cruiser buddies, and he told me to get over there with $2000 cash and wave it in the guy's face. I went with $1200 instead - and made him decide on the spot.

I knew that I wanted this thing - and I paid more than I wanted to for that reason alone. It truly is my dream vehicle! How could I say an extra $700 up front is too much - and let the thing go?

I have it now - and I will never miss the $700.

What an asshole! Just take the money back and forget about it(not easy I know) but the 45 now has bad karma.....it will follow you if you got it. I will do my Voodoo revenge dance and chant aimed at the seller(and his family if you wish)......he will regret screwing with you! If you have a picture of the seller it helps but it works without it.

Why not do it again..

I talked with him at lunch - and got my $$ back. I can't figure out if someone offered him some silly amount of $$, or if he is telling me the truth.

One thing is for sure. I will be swinging by there on Saturday - in hopes of finding someone loading the parts up, or finding the truck gone. I want to confront him - when caught in the act.

I truly didn't see this coming. He had my money, we had a signed bill of sale.

He led me to believe that one of his friends had the title. In reality (or what he is now telling me), his brother bought it from someone he knew back in college. At the same time some of his friends bought some kayaks and a fishing boat that were a part of the deal - but these boats were never paid for. The guy is angry about being owed $3k.....

Who knows the truth! I am out now though. I want nothing further to do with this situation.

CAZ

Oh, and as far as the Voodoo thing - picture Cheech - only without the spanish blood!

rabid
03-11-2003, 05:01 PM
Do you need a title where you are?
I know the whole deal is bogus, but you might be able to snake the truck for cheaper than the price you settled on if it is no good in your state without a title.
Title searches are what...$50?

Legally, you own the truck if you want it. You have the bill o' sale. Get a flatbed, and some big friends, and go and get it.

Maybe get your friends some tequila first so they look good and mean...

Cruiser Ken
03-11-2003, 05:47 PM
I totally agree with rabid... with a bill of sale I would have told him to get fucked it's a done deal. Even if he lost the title it's just a matter of time before he could get a new one issued. Sounds like he's screwing you.

CruisD64
03-12-2003, 12:54 AM
Totally......by law if you have the bill of sale, the truck is yours. He can try to put up a fight, but bottom line is that you will win. You gave him the money and both signed the bill of sale. That is already the point of no return. He can't go back, even if he wanted to. I say you call a lawyer and take this guy to court if you have to.
