I picked up a copy of 4 wheel Drive and Sport Utility Mag.
I wanted to read about the Tera 60R axle buildup they had in there. It was a good artical but I'm not sure a tara 60 is worth $4,000.
I also read the fluf articals on the Liberty and the Willies concept project. They didn't say anything negitive about them and I was left with the feeling this Magazine $ucks up to the Auto makers.

I like the mag because it has good pics. Most of the mag are whores to a certain extent because they get most of their money from advertizing. I would highlite the good points of something and not emphasize the bad ones if I had to talk about something that sucked, but they gave me gobs of money. As for the Tera60, all of those custom built axles seem overpriced to me, but if people will pay it, so what.

Yes, and that is what sucks. I don't always want to hear about what, "works" for them because given their name and budget, you can get anything to work no matter how crappy it really is. Instead, tell me what broke or didn't live up to expectations. Usually I have a very good idea of what is a polished turd and what actually works, but we have all had experiences with something that we thought would work but didn't. Tell me about that stuff!

4K for a buildup, give me a break. Last year I passed on a pile of parts that included a D60, D44, AMC 360, TH400, and lots of other goodies for a mere 1k.

Well, I guess if you can't fab worth a damn or just have money flying out your ass then this is the way to go.

Don't believe ANYTHING you read in any of those so-called "off road" type magazines. They're in business to make money and sell shit to :rainbow: wheelers who either don't know any better or have too much money to care. :p :p

4X4 Mags. are Like like Playboy, The more pictures there are the better the Mag.

Yea, I know it isn't going to happen but a guy can dream can't he? I still buy them for the most part though. Like bluebellyday said, they are like porn. Lots of nice pictures and they kinda give you a little info on some new stuff. I tend to take everything they say with a grain of salt and do my research accordingly.
