I am going to run 38.5 x 14.5 swampers and was wondering what would be the best setup to run. I am definetly going SOA but wondering what kind of leaf spring should I do, and should I do any type of body lift? Thanks

What are you running now?
Have you already cut back the fenders, on your current set up?
With 38.50x14.50, tires, good flex and a mid set to use a set up like that for what its designed for, well the body, pretty much just becomes a piece of sheetmetal in the way of performance. I recommend Dewalt metal cutting sawzall blades, along with Rancho 44044 waggy springs, to stretch out your WB a few inches.

Well right now I am stock I just picked up the YJ, But I am in the process of doing 44 up front and a 60 rear and I want to run the 38"s I am going to flat fender it , i know I am definetly going to need TRIM but I am just wondering what is the best spring to do with the SOA to have the most flex and something that wont sag in the rear.. I was figuring the SOA and like a 2.5 inch spring with maybe a 1' body I wa thinking of RE springs.

I got a buddy runnig 38.50's and he has soa with 4" springs and a 2" body. The tires fit ok but he has an atrocious drive shaft angles. you will need a sye also

Hey H8 those Rancho waggy springs are they 2.5 or what are they?? Also with those springs and the SOA do I need the body lift or a 12 pack some weed and my DEWALT to fit those 38.5's x 14.5.....

I'm thinking of going down the same road, either that or 36"SX's

Figuring SOA, 1" add-a-leaf, R/S, so figure maybe 7" of suspension lift total. Plus a 2" body lift (also to clear a future nv4500) Now with a R/S I am going to have a problem with the inner fender to the firewall area rubbing, so the front axle needs to go forward about 3".

Currently it has 3" tires and 4.75" of lift with the TJ flares. not a rubbing problem at all in the back, could be runing 36" and still be ok. Front, under full compression it jsut starts to touch the fender. so figure I need 3" additional lift vertically to clear that.

At least that's what I figure, the SOA and R/S will be done this next weekend.. but won't have the money for the tires for a while. If you want to donate some I'll test run them for ya and let you know how it works. :D

im runnig 3.5 yj bds springs in the front and 4 inch waggy bds springs in the rear soa on 1 tons and if i had any fenders id suppose 38 would be about right. i have cut so much sheetmetal out i could run 44s.

Just for that, I'm not going to tell you the secret to finding 2" disc brakes that can stop a 3500lb rig! :flipoff2:
