I recently put in my jeep axle in the front of my s-10. I'm wanting to run sway bars in the front and back for street stability and disconnect them for off road.
1. I've noticed that solid axles use a dogbone setup and IFS uses a sort of vertical bolt that runs up and down. I'm wanting to use the stock sway bar so I don't go have to buy another one. It uses the up and down type sway bar end link.
2. What I don't understand is that it seem like the dogbone would bind under normal sway since the realtionship between the frame and the axle are going to change from parallel to ascew and the mounting bolts are made parallel.
3. would it be ok to set up the IFS type of swaybar/endlinks on the solid axle? It seems that there wouldn't be any binding since the bushings could "pivot" like a balljoint and still control the sway.
Is this confusing or do I need to explain more? I might use it anyhow unless it would hit the tires in the front, then I'll use it in the back.
