My friend recently picked up some axles, and he asked me to help him ID them. When I first saw them I thought they might be Dana 60's because of thier size, but I can't find a match when I referenced them against Dana's bill of materials. They are also missing the number (ex. 30, 44, 60) that Dana normally casts onto the differential housing. They do have a diamond with the letters NC stamped into the housing. I pulled the hub on one axle and the stub shaft is 30 spline. These axles are open knuckle, eight lug with disc brakes, and they use spicer u-jionts. Any idea what they may be?
Here are the numbers I copied from one of these axles.
Axletube- 7 27 88 SKM0001867
Differential housing- 6200938

Have you ever seen one before. Don't worry about trying to read the #s. Large raized King pins 60, unless newer93+ Ford, 94+ Dodge. Large external hubs 44, small internal hubs 44, Large internal hubs 60(older dodges eight bolts external). And if you can't tell the diffrence from a 30 and a 60, don't ever build anything.:flipoff2:

He didn't say anything about it being a D30 he just gave an example of numbers cast into the housing, you would have noticed that if you could read the post:flipoff2: but then you are from :smokin: PA

I know what the hell a 60 looks like, and I never compared it to the 30. I just used that as an example. In my opinion, it is a D60, because it has king pins. But my friend wanted me to make sure before he tried to sell it (to cover himself in case it isn't what he thought it was). He also wanted me to find out what these axles came from. So I tried checking them against a dana bible, and I got nothing. So I figured I would ask.
BTW, the previous owner of these axles claim they came from a 6x6 truck. The front and rear axles can steer, and all the axles have disc brakes. All three axles were set up for coil springs, with radius arms. My friend also picked up the transfer cases from this truck. They are two rockwell t-cases attached by a large scattershield like tube, and the front case bolts to a ford C6 tranny.
