Are there any coding indentification numbers on diff carriers? I pulled a D44 off a Rodeo. I know the Isuzu's use a larger ring and come stock with 4.10 or 4.30 ratios. I've been told that the 4.30 uses a 3.92 and down carrier. This is what I've been "told", but I'd like to be able to identify the carrier. I don't want to have to rely on what someone has said.

I asked a very similar question on ORC a bit over a year ago, and got this pic as an answer!
in the pic 3.72 is on the left, and 4.09 is on the right.

oh yeah there is also the dana part numbers to go by
If it is a dana/spicer case, look to see if it has the part number 706024 or 706025 on it. If it does, the 25 is the one you want.
mine had no numbers ( that I could find)
