Got a 94 f350 cc. The previous owner musta had a problem with the abs motor and bypassed it so now the brake lines go from the master right to the back. Of course the abs light is on showing a code. Without the dumbass comments does anyone know how I can show the ecm that the abs is ok so the light goes off.

Unplug the bulb. :D

Seriously. Unless you want to try troubleshooting the system and hook it all back up (not worth the effort IMHO)... The info on how to receive codes from the RABS computer is in the Haynes manual.

I'm assuming it's a rear-only system... would be RABS II in '94. Which basically is only good for keeping one rear tire from locking up... and then only sometimes.

Other than that, unplug the RABS computer. It isn't tied into the EEC, so you don't have anything to lose.

the reason the previous owner did this is because the dump valve for the abs is bad. mine froze up and unlocked repeadedly and i thought that it was due to my brother doing brake stands. put new brakes, drums etc on and up to sacramento they caught on fire.

so look directly under the m/c inside the frame there should be a valve. go to ford ( you can't get em elsewhere) they are 189.00 for jobber or 232.00 for regular with exchnge.

hope that helps.

also look on the passenger side where you can pull that side panel off and there should be an orange/black wire connected to a red on. disconnect it and ground the orange/black one to the body or whatever works. make sure your ignition is on so you can see the light flash. let me know how many flashes and i can tell you exactly what is wrong.

any more help call me. I should make it easier if I talk to you

I know that the valve is bad but I dont want to replace it. I have been driving the truck without the rear abs for almost a year and dont really care to fix it. I would like to jump the harness so the ecm thinks that the abs is ok. If I remove the bulb I think that the check engine light will come on. It is not a big deal just saw someones question on something else and thought someone might know an easy way to do this. Thanks for the help.

Thats what i did with mine!
It was not worth the trouble and my truck still stopped fine.

sounds good. the truck will stop fine just the rears can lock up especially if you have a heavy load behind it. but if you can pull big loads then you shouldn't have any problems braking. (lets hope others can know how to stop their trucks with out locking and losing control!)

anyway glad to help a fellow ford a holic:beer: :)

The ECM and ABS circuits are totally seperate, neither knows what the other is doing.
