Well, I broke the bottom leaf off of my passenger rear spring pack wheeling last week. Broke clean off at the u-bolt. Anyways, I wanted YJ's anyway, so now I finally have an excuse to buy them. :D I was looking at a few kits available, and the trail tough one really caught my attention. I searched and it looked like at least one person is running it on here. Anybody heard anything about it or have any opinions about it? The front uses M/L's, but I think the rear just uses a standard shackle? Any info would be awesome. Thanks guys. ~Steve

if you're going to run 33x12.5's you're probably going to need some kind of add a leafs to give a little extra boost to stock yj packs....i saw a zuk with the TT kit with 33x12.5 boggers....he did a lot of rubbing on the fenders......it's been my experience that TT stuff is top quality....i don't think you'll be disappointed with the kit itself

I'm running 33x12.50 Goodyear MT's right now on a spoa with Calmini SR. Before the spring broke, the rear didn't rub at all, but the front rubbed just a little bit in the rear of the wheel well under compression and turned wheel. I'm hopefully going to be getting TJ flares soon, so that will help open up the wheel well openings a bit. And if that doesn't work, out comes the sawzall. :D :D ~Steve

Try your query on the BBS at OffRoad.com, Brent (from TT) hangs around there some. The Trail Tough parts I've seen have been nicely built. I haven't dealt with them yet, but I hear the customer service is superb. And for my praise, I think Brent should send me one of their new t-case mounts! :D

How many times do I hafta post before I lose this dern newbie status?:p

Am I going to need to run a panhard bar up front with the M/L's? I don't really want to do that, but I think it may be necessary??? How do they function without one? ~Steve

It's my trail rig. I flat tow it wherever I go, so street manners don't matter too much to me. It seems like a good kit at a very reasonable price. Keep the info comin', guys. ~Steve

All of our guys run the YJ suspension system and they all run 33x14 boggers. We all run 5 leaf packs. There is no rubbing at the rear wheel wells, of course, we have tuned our shock lengths so that wouldn't happen. All 3 vehicles are daily drivers and we don't find any need for a pan hard bar with this particular kit.

Sounds good. Am I going to need to address my driveshafts with this kit? I am assuming I will need to, but not 100% sure since I am already running a spoa with Calmini S/R in the front. ~Steve

Ive ran m/l not trail tough but others and there is no need for a panhard bar.

I've ran with the trail tough crew on a couple runs and they are awsome guys with good rigs. I gladly spend my money on there parts very hard core.

Brent show them the buggy in the back of the shop looks sweet.

as far as a transfer case bracket just reinforce yours.if you have acsess to a weilder, that is all brent does to them.

If you already have drive shaft spacer front and rear no adress
necessary if not get them or your splines will be pulling out or new drive shafts altogether:smokin: I rin4-8 dls shackles with spacer and no problems but alittle vibe;)

Hey, Mr. CSR - the "newbie" - email me direct at blbradshaw@msn.com because you just won yourself a FREE - no, not a Mighty Kong - but a COOL Trail Tough t-shirt!

In regards to driveline issues with the YJ kit, you need to make up 2" of driveline length in the front and 1" in the rear - over stock shafts. This can be done with spacers or slip yokes. We prefer slip yokes in the rear and a spacer at the t-case in the front...other than that, no custom shaft necessary.
