I am tearing down my TH350 to swap the 2wd output shaft with a 4wd output shaft...so far its been pretty simple and straight forward...but I am down to the point that I can see the c-clip on the end of the shaft but I can't get the snap ring pliers on it so I assume the whole assembly needs to come out but I cant get it out...could someone please inform me...help, thanks

p.s. here are some pics to try and show what I am talking about

You have to remove the snap ring first to remove the output carrier. You just need a set of fine-tip snap ring pliers

Are you really attempting to tear down and re-assemble an automatic transmission without a manual?

thanks, and yes I am tearing it down without a manual because I have lent my manual out and haven't got it back yet...I'm not rebuilding it just changing the shaft...there hasn;t been too much to it so far...:D

oh yeah, thanks again...:p
