I am getting some new wheel blanks and need to get them coated. I know I can get them powdered, use POR 15 or spray them myself.
Any thoughts on what paint to use? Hammerite? Good ole rustoleum? Thoughts? Flames?

I personally wouldn't waste the money on getting rims powder coated only to have them get all beat up. Though you don't say what kind of rims, beadlocks I imagine. if it's beadlocks then you might get the inside of the rim powder coated and just paint the outer lock with some of that Industrial Rustoleum in the big tall can. good stuff.

I just painted mine with Krylon.. the special Rust inhibator primer then rust preventive top layer... I don't know how it will hold up to abuse since they aren't mounted yet but it appears to be decent...

Thanks for the repsonses. I am thinking that I will spray them with Hammerite. I have been using it on sliders and bumpers with some success.
To clarify on the wheels, as you probably could guess, wheels for rovers are difficult to get in various offsets. I contacted the wheel manufactuer, and they agreed to make me whatever I needed, as long as the order went through a vendor of theirs. So, I contacted a retailer who agreed to do all the orders.
So, I now get steel wheels in 15 or 16 any width and any offset. The only hang-up is that they come naked.
