Has anyone had any experience with the Holley or Howell fuel injection kits? I have a CJ5 with a '304.

I've had a howell for six years... and it's been a good upgrade. I picked howell because I din't want to fool with the Holly closed loop controls and the system was pure GM. I don't regret it.

Unless you have a CJ-5 older than 1973 with a swapped in 304, you won't beable to get it smogged in california. Currently there is not company that builds a smog legal 304 kit.

Better off going with a carburator at this point.

I have the Cal Smog Legal EFI on my 258 and it works very well compared to the Carter 2 barrel.

So you have to swap the carb back on for tests. No big deal. :)

Howell for sure. They use factory GM parts and I haven't heard anyone realy bragg about the Holley setup for off-road.

I heard of a guy that swapped in a Howell EFI, recut his aircleaner to over it and left on the normal smog shit (modified inoperative) and had never had any issues smogging it.

This might be an option for ya.

I know people that have gone the holley 4d and put it in the trash can six months later and went howell..

It seems the holley is very touchy and come out of adjustment all the time, that and hooking a computer up to it inorder to adjust it is just garbage.

But yes if your in calif no smog place will touch it, Personally I will try with my 2100 on my 304 and see how she does..
