Where is the least expensive place to get CTM U-joints for a Dana 44! I will have my Moser shafts next week and need to get them on order ASAP.

The best place to get CTM information and pricing is one forum down from this one.

I don't think you can get them cheaper than $185. Call around.

no one sell's them for less than $185. period.

I can't wait to wheel mine next weekend, finally ChroMo'd the whole front end!

BTW, they were by far the easiest u-joint install ever. I heard horror stories about the install, not true. you get what you pay for, a great product all around. :D

Thats the type of stuff I like to see:D Still it happens all the time. My wife is the manager of a sunglass store and they have set prices on lots of the products they sell (prices set by the Manufacturer ).

You can't put ctms on moser shafts. The ears are too soft. Believe me I know. :( The only way to go is warn. Oh by the way, moser told me to pound sand.

No shit. Totally illegal. Jack's a good guy and all, but he has no right telling his resellers what price they choose to do business.

Is he telling them they can't sell for less or is he just not selling to the resellers for much less than that too???

I know alot of companies don't let you "advertise less" than a certain amount but you CAN sell for a lower amount. (Tuffy is one that comes to mind)

RE as well. You can sell below the price, just can't advertise it. What do they care if you make money. Most folks do it so the product doesn't become devalued by someone blowing it out at some rock bottom price. I think Jack doesn't sell to his dealers for much less than they are charged per joint. They are't gonna get rich selling CTMs since the market is so close knit.

What do you mean the ears are too soft? Did you get the remanufactured ones or the Alloy shafts? I plan on putting the CTM's on Moser alloy shafts. I have read of several PBB members that run Mosers with CTM's.

warn builds a shaft worthy of a ctm. through hardened 4340

moser's alloy shaft makes a nice OEM replacement. but it is not through hardend and the material is not suitable for extreme use.

buy warns or keep the stock setup

If you have stock shafts, you already own a set of Moser replacements. :p

What happened to the $150 price I heard CTMs were going for?
Thats quite a price jump. Are they in even shorter supply now?

Busted an end off of a CTM, and even after I busted the ujoint I had to drive on it to get out of the position that I was in. Thought maybe the ear of the "WARN" might be screwed. Absolutely perfect, held up to a ctm breaking, warns are the shit. so are ctms. Later!

I broke the ear of a WARN when a stupid "Bute Force" u-joint shattered. yea, yea, I know "Brute Force," WTF?

It was an 11th hour fix to get me on the trail the next day...well, it was a costly decision.

the point; anything can break any time....:flipoff2:

Moser shafts have a massive set of ears on them....but they are so soft. see this...in this pic the spicer UJ held fine but the inner axle snapped clean and the ears twisted like putty. http://dreamwater.com/zuk/detroitsoftlocker.html

I now have Warns and CTMs. So happy now.

Not all Mosers are created equal. You have the regular ones like what Zuk has in his pics, and you have the better ones that have more beef around the ears like these.
