Looking at a set of disc brakes off an F100 to fit onto my CJ5 dana44 front - any tips on how easy/difficult this would be to perform? Any other tips?
Also any suggestions of a donor that I could score Dana60 rear discs?

go to the junk yard and get some backing plates off a chevy and the calipers, get some 78,79 cj rotors they are 1 1/8",put on the baking plates put the rotors on your old hubs and bolt on the calipers, if you look in the new JP mag azine there is a whole article, cool?

The bitch is there isn't such a thing as a chevy or a CJ in a wrecking yard out here - They just don't exist...too rare...Heck I have only once ever seen ANY jeep in a wrecking yard....
Hence why I was thinking of getting 'em from a Ford - If possible....Yep a saw the article in JP mag - it inspired me but really raised more questions than answers........

Wagoneer disks are the same as a chevy. Get the backing plates off of one and you will be set. Then use 76-77 big brakes from a CJ which are 1 1/8" wide and your are good to go.

I believe the Ford stuff will work. The parts you will need are spindle, wheel hub, rotor, outer axle, hublock, caliper and caliper bracket. You will have to make sure the spindles fit the knuckles. There may also be an issue with the caliper and/or bracket hitting the knuckle. Just look over everything carefully and you'll be fine.
Also, Autozone ( www.autozone.com ) has new hub rotor assemblies for a resonable price.
HTH
A Ford spindle will not bolt to the Waggie knuckle. Ford uses five bolts to bolt the spindle to the knuckle. The Waggie knuckle has six studs for bolting up the spindle.

The later modesl Fords have the six lug pattern I belive in 80 or 81 they changed. Or just get the whole knuckle out and the out stub shaft and your set (if you have a D44)

Already have the D44 front (not waggie) & I'm fairly confident I can find pre-80 Fords.....
Thanks for the feedback & hope.

How sure of that statement are you? I have spindles sitting in my garage, one set from a '78 F150 and one set from a '84 Bronco. Both have five holes in them to mount to the knuckle. My old '89 Bronco also had five holes in the spindles.

I do have a ford spindle in my garage that is Ford and 6 bolt. It may be off of a IFS but not sure. I belive its from an `81 got this in trade with a bunch of other ford stuff. The guy I got it from is strictly a ford guy too. I can do some more checking
Thanx Mike
